In participatory budgeting, the citizens get to decide how the shared funds of the city will be used.
This year, participatory budgeting is piloted in Tampere.
The citizens of Tampere get to decide how to use half a million euros.
The funds are reserved for ideas to improve the lives of children and young people.
You, too, can submit a proposal
The City of Tampere wants to hear people’s ideas for improving the conditions of children and young people.
You, too, can share your own idea.
Share your idea at the address www.mun.tampere.fi.
You can also ask others to help you write down your idea.
The citizens of Tampere and other cities can share their ideas.
People enjoy very different things and, therefore, we welcome different kinds of ideas.
Someone likes to do sports while another one likes to paint or sing with other people.
You can share your ideas for one month,
between 15 April and 15 May.
Join the discussion
During the autumn, events will be organised in Tampere where people get to discuss the proposed ideas.
You are invited to join the discussion.
The event details will be published in August on the City of Tampere’s website at the address www.tampere.fi.
Tampere residents are voting in November
In Tampere, half a million euros can be used in the improvement of the lives of children and young people.
Despite the significant amount of money, the sum is not enough to implement all ideas.
The residents of Tampere will decide which ideas will be implemented.
The selection is done by voting.
The voting takes place in November.
The voting period starts on 1 November and finishes on 30 November.
All citizens of Tampere who are 12 years of age or older are eligible to vote.
After the voting, we will find out which are the best ways of improving the lives of children and young people according to the citizens of Tampere.
The results of the voting are published in December.
The ideas with most votes are implemented during the year 2021.
